Man attempts to bring missile launcher through TSA, fails
Updated: Aug 2, 2019
As any air traveler knows, there are many items you're not allowed to bring aboard a plane, either in your carry-on or checked luggage.
And while missile launchers aren't specifically noted on the list, those aren't allowed, either.
The Transportation Security Administration said in a statement that a missile launcher was found recently in a man's checked luggage. The unidentified traveler, who said he was in the military and bringing home the souvenir from Kuwait, was traveling through Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airporton his way to Jacksonville, Texas when the weapon was discovered.
Officials say the missile launcher wasn't "live" but was still turned over to the state fire marshal for disposal, while the passenger was questioned by police and eventually permitted to catch his flight.
