Man throws birthday party for a pothole
Well, if you can't fill the pothole, let it eat cake.
Kansas City resident Frank Sereno could see the eyesore from his front window. Despite calling the city multiple times over the past three months, no one would come to fill it.
So Frank decided to take matters, and cake batters, in to his own hands. He threw the pothole a birthday party.
“I got some cake, lit a candle and had a little birthday party for Pothole," he told KCTV5 in Kansas City, noting that the pothole seemed thrilled with the idea. “I didn't sing to him. It was too hot out.”
Sereno placed a red, white and blue piece of cake on the pothole -- a perfect treat on this Fourth of July week. It was trimmed with white frosting and a candle.
The TV station began reporting on deteriorating road conditions back in January. A spokesperson for Kansas City's public works says there is a long list of reported potholes to fix, and blamed the backlog in part to spring showers that covered the area.
As for Frank's pothole, he hopes that city workers fill it before pumpkin pie is back in season.
