Movie theater evacuated after urine sample delivered to wrong address

A urine sample delivered to the wrong address caused chaos at a movie theater and sent a manager on a trip to the hospital in Washington on Friday night, reports KOMO News.

The mysterious package arrived at the North Bend Theater with liquid inside it and a warning label attached to it that read "highly contagious human substance," according to Sgt. Paul Graham with Snoqualmie Police.

This prompted the theater to call for Hazmat crews and the theater was evacuated, as were the local streets.  Meanwhile, the manager, who opened the package, was transported to a local hospital to be checked out for exposure to the unknown substance.

However, tests eventually confirmed the liquid inside the package was urine and it was "disposed of appropriately in a bio container," according to officials with the Eastside Firefighters union.

Sgt. Graham explained, the package was supposed to be delivered to a medical clinic in Tacoma. It remains unclear how the urine sample found its way to North Bend, which is more than 40 miles away from its intended recipient.
