Pizza chain will sell you just the crust
There are some people who believe the most enjoyable part of a slice of pizza is its crust. Have we got good news for you.
The Villa Italian Kitchen restaurant chain has announced that starting Thursday, July 18, it'll sell customers an order of pizza crusts.
Yes, just the crust. No cheese, no tomato sauce, no toppings.
"We are huge pizza crust fans," Mimi Wunderlich, the chain's director of communications, said in a statement. "We know that the crust is everyone’s favorite part of the pizza, so skipping straight to selling pizza crusts only seemed like the perfect idea."
The franchise claims it received a "record number" of inquires regarding its crust, thus inspiring the menu item.
A pizza slice box filled with the crusts -- or as others may simply refer to them, seasoned breadsticks -- will set you back $2.75.
