Police take peacock into custody after it was "terrorizing" community
Residents of Newton, New Hampshire can rest easy. A peacock that police joked was "terrorizing" the neighborhood is no longer on the prowl.
Authorities in the Granite State took the peacock into custody over the weekend.
The bird was apparently walking around residents’ yards and perching on their porches. Some even went as far as to tell police that they felt trapped in their homes.
Newton Police called in an animal control officer who corralled the bird and brought him in to the pen.
The story does have a happy ending for the peacock. After Newton police posted the bird's faux booking photo on their Facebook page, it was reunited with its owner.
