Popeyes offers $10,000 to woman after gameshow gaffe goes viral
Canadian Eve Dubois may have lost on Family Feud, but in real-life it appears she is a winner, winner chicken dinner. Popeyes Lousiana Kitchen has gifted her with $10,000 worth of food after she mistook a gameshow question about the cartoon sailor Popeye for the fast-food restaurant.
A video clip of Dubois went viral after she excitedly did a little dance and blurted out, "chicken!" when asked to "name Popeye's favorite food" in an episode of Family Feud Canada.
Her family couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed. Dubois eventually realized her error when her opponent answered "spinach," the favorite food of the sailor man from the classic cartoon. The error cost her family the game and the chance to win a $10,000 prize.
On Friday, however, Popeyes stepped in and announced that they decided to offer Dubois a consolation prize. The company tweeted, "Our survey says that you got that right," Adding, "DM us to claim your $10,000 worth of Popeyes."
