Sammy Hagar & The Circle debut new "Lockdown Sessions" performance video featuring Van Halen cover

Sammy Hagar and his band The Circle recently debuted the third in a series of remotely recorded "Lockdown Sessions" performance videos, which you can watch at the Red Rocker's YouTube channel.

The new clip features Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnsonperforming a rocking, shortened rendition of the 1986 Van Halen song "Good Enough," with the musicians playing their parts separately while they shelter at home. Hagar tells ABC Audio that the video series is giving him and his band mates the chance to play deep cuts and cover songs they love that they wouldn't normally perform in concert, or brand-new material, while they are unable to tour because of the coronavirus pandemic. "We don't play ['Good Enough'] live, but it's a great song," the Red Rocker explains. "And so, we just did that one."

The previous two "Lockdown Sessions" videos featured Hagar and The Circle playing a new tune, "Funky Feng Shui," and a version of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," and Sammy reports that upcoming clips will feature renditions of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones songs.

Sammy says one of the things he's enjoying about the video performances is that the songs are two minutes long or shorter.

"It's just created a whole new concept in my head that…every song [doesn't] have to have a two-minute guitar solo...[or] a drum solo in the middle of every song," he notes. "Just get to the point, and bam, bam, bam. So, yeah, it's fun."

Hagar tells ABC Audio that he and The Circle will keep doing the "Lockdown Sessions" videos until "we get to go back on the road." He adds, laughing, that the band may wind up with a whole new show by then
