The most popular romantic movies, ranked by state

With it being Valentine's Day, now's a good time to flag some romantic movies for streaming. While everybody has their favorites, so do certain states, in a manner of speaking.

The research company Comparitech crunched the numbers using Google search data, and determined what they say are the most popular romantic films, by state.

In some cases, states in which these classics were shot remained loyal: For example, New York City-set When Harry Met Sally tops the list with viewers in the Empire State, and Alaska hearts The Proposal, the rom-com with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, is set there.

Ditto for California and Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone, and Pennsylvania for Silver Linings Playbook, in which Bradley Cooper plays an Eagles-obsessed guy opposite Jennifer Lawrence in the City of Brotherly Love.

On the other hand, the 1999 Hugh Grant-Julia Roberts romantic comedy Notting Hill, named after the London neighborhood in which it's set, is Florida's most popular romantic flick.

Without further ...I do... (get it?), here is the full list of states, movies, where the films were set, and when they were released:
