The Rolling Stones join lineup of star-studded One World: Together at Home special

Arguably the most famous rock band on the planet, The Rolling Stones have joined the already-star-packed lineup of the One World: Together at Home special, which will be broadcast tomorrow, April 18, at 8 p.m. ET on all major networks and their digital platforms.


"We are honored to be invited to be part of the One World: Together at Home broadcast -- from our homes in isolation," the band's Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood said in a joint statement posted on Billboard.com. "[It's] a fantastic event with Global Citizen in the fight against COVID-19."


Among the many other previously announced artists that will be performing on the special while self-quarantining are Paul McCartney, Elton John, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Stevie Wonder, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, and Coldplay's Chris Martin, as well as a slew of famous contemporary pop, rock and R&B stars.


As previously reported, the event, which was curated by Lady Gaga, will be hosted Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon.


In addition, there will be a six-hour streaming event ahead of the two-hour TV special,with 80 stars taking part, among them Annie Lennox, Sheryl Crow, and occasional Queen frontman Adam Lambert.


One World: Together at Home is being presented by Global Citizen and the World Health Organization to celebrate "the heroic efforts of community health workers and support…the global fight to end COVID-19."
